Last Sunday, Christopher and I arrived in Florida for a week-long vacation! We had entered, and won a cutest pet competition last December, and the Grand Prize was an all-expenses paid, five day/four night trip to Florida! Included in the package, was a rental car, so we decided to make it worth while, and visit some places outside of our resort, since I'd never been to Florida before, and of course, that meant, visiting South Beach in Miami!
Unfortunately, since we had lots of other plans for the week, we could only take a day trip here, but, I loved it as soon as the white buildings popped up along the skyline— it really doesn't take much longer than that to fall in love with Miami. These are all quick snapshots I took with my iPhone 5 (edited with VSCO CAM), enjoy! :)When we arrived in Miami, it was fairly late in the afternoon, so we didn't have much time to explore as I would have liked, but, for our first time there, I say we saw enough (enough to make me want to move there haha). First of all, the beach is beautiful! Coming here in early December seems like an ideal time for planning future visits, it's not very humid or hot, and it's not very crowded. Not pictured are the massive, white Art Basel tents that were being set up along the beach (we came to Miami on Monday), and I'm pretty bummed that we didn't get to stick around for that (because I love Contemporary Art), but, hopefully, next year, I can plan a trip around it!
The Art Deco architecture Miami is infamous for also caught my eye, it was just so unique, and pretty to look at. Every building was candy-colored, and neon, and all the awnings had retro typography! I loved it! I will definitely say, I was caught off guard from the moment we drove up and saw the massive skyline, I knew Miami would be beautiful, but it felt unreal. South Beach is definitely the place to go if you if you don't have much time to spend in Miami, and still want to get a feel for the typical "Miami things". Next time I go, it will obviously be for a longer period of time, and I want to check out some of the different neighborhoods, museums, restaurants, and whatever else I can take in during my stay.
Stay tuned for more of our Florida vacation pics, we visited Universal Studios Island of Adventure next, I can't wait to show you the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
