I can't believe we're already saying goodbye to the month of June! The Summer Solstice was just a little over a week ago, officially kicking off the summer season, but, it seems like summer has gone on for forever already. It's been downright dreadful here in The District, with high temperatures, crazy humidity, and nary a tree nor cloud to offer shade when you're out and about. I don't like putting a huge amount of effort into my outfit choices during the summer, because, you're basically just going to end up in a pool of your own sweat anyway. I do feel as though there has to be something in between not giving a damn, and trying too hard, so, I'm hoping to create that balance. As you've seen in previous outfit posts so far, denim shorts are a staple for me, and today, I went the classic route, by pairing it with a breezy oversized white men's button up, hat, and a splash of color with my suede boots. I love all the juxtaposition between the masculine and feminine aspects of this combination, but, most importantly, I love how easy and comfortable this look is to wear! Even though I'm a sweaty, hot mess in this heatwave, I still look put together, and that's about all I can hope to achieve these days.
