Hey everyone—hope your weekends were lovely, mine was pretty good, I didn't get nearly as much sleep as I had hoped, but, that's okay, there's always next weekend! Anyway, I thought I'd kick off the week wearing something that I had been putting off wearing since I bought it. This schoolgirl dress was a lucky thrift store find a few months ago; it fits incredibly well—the length is great, it cinches perfectly at the waist, I also love the cut-out details on the bodice/bust area, which helps to break up all the plaid, so that I'm not drowning in it. Despite having tons of stains (thank God the plaid camouflages it), I love how well constructed it is, and because it's not super short, it looks like it was made for an adult, and most importantly, it looks much more expensive than it was—which was all of three dollars, by the way.I adultified (yep, just made up a word) this dress by adding some sophisticated pumps, with my DIY ankle straps, and pulling my hair into a low ponytail, and adding a rich, matte lip. I also chose a nice structured bag, but in a bright, sunny yellow to make this look less serious, and more playful. Like I said, I definitely lucked out when I found this, it's such a fun piece to have in my closet, that can be worn many different ways. I was going to hold out, and save this for the Fall, but, it will work pretty much year-round, I think. Have you guys gone thrifting recently? Let me know if you found anything good!
