Why yes, I am wielding an umbrella [Insert Rihanna lyrics here], for, the East coast is lucky enough to be welcoming the latest menace to society: Tropical Storm Arthur. No offense, but, what kind of name is that for a storm? It should be something like Tropical Storm Kraken, or something epic, I don't know. What I do know is, all this off and on raining is getting on my nerves, and as much as it's nice to get some relief from the miserable heat, miserable muggy rain isn't really all that much better. I digress.
Today's look is really based around these shorts, I KNOW! Before you say, "Oh, but Tasha, you wear denim shorts everyday," in my defense, these shorts have great detail, and, and... okay, you're right.
Regarding the shorts, though, what drew me to these jeans (originally pants, if you couldn't tell), was the beautiful detailing around the pockets, and down the sides. The trim detail adds such a classy element, very Ralph Lauren. As beautiful as they were, the fit was totally 80s (and not flattering as pants on me), so, I had to hack them into shorts, because, of course. They remind me a lot of something Nicole Richie would wear, I think I actually may have had her in mind when I made these, as she always has the best cut off shorts, well, the best everything, actually.
In keeping with my Keep It Simple motto lately, I just threw on a striped tshirt—there's something about high waisted shorts and striped shirts as a combo, that I love, I can't quite put my finger on it. To break up the casualness of the shorts and tshirt, I wore my tuxedo vest. I'm also rocking a floppy hat (because I'm still don't feel like doing my hair), and my trusty lace-up sandals.
I think I'm really getting the hang of this summer style business.
