On a brisk day back in January, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC was the epicenter of creative activity in the DMV area. Photographers, models, and bloggers got together thanks to Jeimy and Alex of Moonrise District. Together, they run the Moonrise District blog, and in an effort to collab and meet with fellow creatives in the area, they started hosting meetups at various DC locations. This was my first one, and, how appropriate that it happened to be at the National Portrait Gallery! Christopher and I had a blast posing, and taking pictures at this event—this is my first meetup where the photographers outnumbered the bloggers, so, it was kind of cool to see so many people shooting the same subjects, but getting drastically different results. There were plenty of other things to photograph as well, including, the Washington Ballet putting on a rehearsal of their Sleepy Hollow ballet. I'm a huge ballet fan, and it was such a cool thing to see actual ballerinas up close, dancing and being perfect, basically. Suffice it to say, we had a ton of photos afterwards, and it's taken me so long to touch them because, well, it's overwhelming! I had to leave out so many shots, but, the ones below do a great job of capturing the vibes of the day. If you want to see some of the other amazing images from this event, check out the #MoonriseDCMeet tag on Instagram! And, be sure to follow Jeimy (@moonrisedistrict), she's awesome!!
Without further ado, photos! :P
It was such a great event, and I'm super stoked that I could attend! We actually just did another #MoonriseDCMeet this past weekend at the National Cathedral (my favorite place in the District), and I soon as I can mentally prepare myself to tackle those images, I will have them up for you guys!
