[dropcap]Unless[/dropcap] you've been living in seclusion for the last few months, you would have noticed how 70s fashion has come back with a vengeance. There was this glamour from that era that everyone had—whether they were in full-on hippy mode, or a disco diva, everyone just looked so amazing all of the time. It was a decade for making statements, both politically, and fashion-wise, and sometimes, the two intersected; it was all about rebellion, and being free—fast forward to 2015, and we can see many parallels to the civil rights, feminist, and anti-war movements in the 70s, it's very fitting that 70s fashion would make an emergence.
I found these awesome jeans on sale (woot!) from Mango, and when I put them on, I definitely had a flashback to the last time flare jeans were really in style: I was in elementary school, at the roller skating rink, laughing with my friends, rocking mood-changing lipstick, and dancing to the Spice Girls. Isn't it crazy how clothes can evoke memories like that?
Anyway, I tried to stick with my usual color-palette, because while I love getting into trends, I still like to keep some of my personal style prevalent, and you know my thoughts on black—it never goes out of style. If this were the 70s, I would probably have paired this outfit with a satchel, or boho bag, but since it's 2015, why not spice it up a bit, and go for something unexpected yet perfect, with this Two Eggs box clutch. I love the pop of pink, and that it has so much character on it's own. It's definitely a statement piece, so it works quite well with a toned-down denim look.
What things from the 70s will you be incorporating into your own wardrobe? I'd love to hear in the comments!
