Café Au Lait
I've been waiting almost an entire year to rock this camel coat by Missguided again! Last Fall season was dominated by the camel coat, and I don't see much changing this year. It's such an amazing addition to any closet, especially, if you have a soft spot for the classics, like I do. I think it's important to have pieces like this on-hand, because they make getting dressed super easy, and honestly, a great coat like this one, can completely transform what you're wearing.I loved the idea of freshening up my camel coat with a white monochromatic outfit underneath. So, I paired this coat with a gorgeous eyelet blouse from Zara, and ripped jeans from H&M—I love that both pieces provide some texture. The shoes are also from Zara, and I'm totally into breaking the 'no white after Labor Day' rule, if it means I get to wear these cool heels! The translucent accent around the edges really modernizes the classic pump silhouette.
Which brings me to a great point, when introducing classic pieces into your wardrobe—update, update, update! Just because certain pieces lack personality, or color, doesn't mean that you can't find other ways to introduce them into your look! For example, the very last thing I threw on before leaving the house in this look, was a western-inspired silver buckle belt—this coat has no buttons or even a built-in sash, so adding my own belt really just completed my outfit, the belt made it feel more edgy, and personalized. You can take whatever liberties you want with something like a camel coat, it can work with just about anything!
I'd love to hear about some of the things you're looking forward to wearing this season, let me know in the comments!
