I don't know who first coined the term 'athleisure', but that person deserves a raise. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, athleisure is basically just incorporating items designed for athletic purposes into your style—most times, it juxtaposes super-laid back gym-style clothes, and something more tailored or fancy. It can certainly be a challenge to dress up gym clothes, but, it's also a lot of fun to mix and match styles to create something unique, and be super comfortable at the same time. I will say this until I die: comfort is everything when it comes to your personal style. If you aren't comfortable in it, it's not for you. As soon as I laid eyes on this sweatsuit from Ekineyo, I knew it had to be mine! First of all, the material is so soft, I didn't even want to take it off! This oxblood color is gorgeous, and I think having it in this color makes it slightly less casual than it is (maybe that's in my head, though). However, I mainly ordered this, because I absolutely loved that the top is cropped, which just gives a nice modern touch to a classic. I paired my outfit with my camel coat, and ankle boots. Don't ask me how I lucked out, but the the fabric on the sweatsuit and the fabric on these boots are a complete match, so I had to put it all together. The coat is to break up all that beautiful color, and add some structure.
Of course, you don't need to wear a head to toe sweatsuit to get in on the athleisure trend, even doing something simple, like adding cute trainers to a skirt or dress will work.
Looks like the businesswomen on the metro rocking sneakers with their powersuits have had the last laugh.
