A couple of weeks ago, I found this olive bomber in my boyfriend's closet. He never gets to wear it because the sleeves are too short, and as badly as I feel about his #tallpeopleproblems, I also can't just let a jacket go to waste. Not on my watch. Can you believe this one is from Target? It's from the William Rast collection a couple of years ago! Even though it's a couple of years old, it still looks so current, because they stayed true to the classic bomber jacket silhouette, and olive is a tried and true neutral. The weather here lately has been all over the place, and we've had lots of days where a few light layers will do the trick, so this bomber jacket is definitely a great transitional piece—it's light enough for warm days, and for colder days, all I need are more layers and I'm good to go.
What I like about wearing a men's jacket, is that it instantly becomes oversized on me—I think bombers should look quite baggy on, I can't stand ones that are fitted! The bigger, and baggier the better! With the jacket, I'm wearing a distressed tee, with some cool ankle boots, and a pop of pink with my Two Eggs Moneybags purse. I think pink and olive are great together, it seems like such an odd pairing, but it works!
I kept the look rather casual this go round, but, I'd definitely like to experiment with some more bodycon-style pieces under this, perhaps a long knitted sweater dress—the contrast in texture and volume would be fabulous! How would you style an oversized bomber jacket? Let me know in the comments!
