I have this thing with work bags.
Being a full-time photographer means that at any given moment, I'm either out shooting on-location, editing, having meetings, or brainstorm sessions from libraries, museums, coffeeshops, etc. At any given moment, my work bag contains my camera and its countless accessories, or my laptop, headphones, and all the equipment I need to get shit done for the day.
Suffice it to say, my office is wherever I am, and it's really important to me to have bags which can handle carrying all of my stuff (and keeping it organized), while also being incredibly stylish at the same time. I usually have a number of different bags in rotation, but I found myself reaching for my sporty nylon backpack the most this year. I have really been hauling a lot of stuff lately, so being able to distribute the weight on both shoulders has been a big relief—the only problem with my current go-to is that it's kind of flimsy, on top of that, there's a huge graphic logo on it, which is fine for casual days, but it's kind of embarrassing to bring to more formal work engagements or shoots—especially if I'm out for the day, and can't make it home to change bags. I needed an upgrade.
The Pråper by Gaston Luga marries the style and function I crave, making it an excellent choice for my daily work (and travel) life. I love the mix of leather and canvas, which make this backpack look incredibly sophisticated, and sturdy. Of course, I went for the black on black option, as I want something that could go with everything, since daily use is important to me. And also: it's me. Black is my life.
There are some nice functionality features too, like a 13-15" interior laptop sleeve, pocket for your passport, and pockets for organizing your things. There's also the coolest hook and ladder closure system, which, besides the gorgeous red lining, is one of my favorite finishing details on the bag.
These are the type of pieces which become essential to my life quite quickly, since it's important to me to carry bags for work which don't scream 'work bag', you know? I love when it doesn't look like I'm carrying a bunch of equipment around with me. I love having a backpack that's a bit more grown up, so that it can be carried to events, photoshoots, lunch meetings, or whatever else I have going on that day, and it's equal parts professional and stylish.
