TATCHA: THE DEEP CLEANSE
Recently, Tatcha ran a really interesting promotion, which I found about through someone I follow on Twitter—basically, you had to text 'TATCHA' to a phone number, and in return, they'd send you a deluxe same of their latest product: The Deep Cleanse. Never one to pass up a fun promotion, I signed up for the cleanser, and waited until it showed up at my house a few weeks later. —This post is not sponsored.
What It Is
A luxurious gel cleanser which contains Luffa fruit fibers to gently exfoliate and cleanse your skin without over-drying.
"The Deep Cleanse oil-free gel lathers into a creamy foam to lift away dirt, oil and impurities without over-drying. It cleanses with amino acids derived from silk gentle enough for even the most delicate skin, leaving skin soft, refreshed and comfortably hydrated.
The formula harnesses the power of the Japanese Luffa fruit, a natural beauty multi-tasker beloved by Japanese women for centuries. Ground fibers from the fruit exfoliate, helping to turn over dead skin cells, deeply purifying & decongesting pores, while the fruit extract beautifies and conditions skin.
Japanese Wild Rose works to visibly tighten pores and smooth skin texture, while Japanese Leopard Lily helps minimize excess oil."
WHAT I THINK
I think the key here is that it's luxurious, at a cost of $38 for 5 oz of product, this is definitely an investment for some, but one that I think is well worth it.
This isn't your mama's scrub, and while it does contain some Luffa fruit fibers in its formula, the texture of those fibers is very smooth, you can see them suspended in the gel, but you won't feel any harsh, abrasiveness when rubbed into your skin.
The gel itself is very rich, and when added to water creates a very lush lather/slight foam, which is very gratifying. I don't know about you, but gel cleansers that don't lather make me feel uncomfortable—sure, foaming isn't the only indicator that your skin is being cleaned, but let's be real, it's nice to see your cleanser foam up and I love when it happens. This feels (and smells) like the kind of gel cleanser you might see used at a spa, and it honestly feels like you're being treated to a facial in your own home.
What I noticed after the very first use of the cleanser was that it had my skin looking baby-soft, and bright—it does an incredible job of deep cleaning and exfoliating my skin. Anything with 'deep' in its name is usually an indicator that my face will end up being overly-dry after use, but it's quite the opposite in this case.
The Deep Cleanse is actually formulated for Normal to Oily Skin, but all skin types can use it. It also sits on a neutral pH level of 6.98 (according to Tatcha's website), so it's not acidic enough to irritate or dry out your skin. Yes, for gentle skincare!
YAY OR NAY?
Overall, I would definitely recommend this cleanser to you guys. It's gentle yet effective, and can be used daily (up to 2x/day). While maybe it's not the most affordable price point for many of us, you do get a lot of product, a little goes a very long way (so it will last a while), and the formulation and results are impressive.
If you end up splurging on it, you won't be disappointed. I'm definitely hooked, and will be grabbing a full-size ASAP.
